Why did this all start? I started writing in 2005. Prior to that I had been reading a lot and when I went into WH Smith one day to look for a new book to buy, I couldn't find one that appealed to me. So I left the shop and decided to have a go at writing my own.

How did you start? I was always being told that my anecdotes were hilarious and I was able to make people laugh with my stories. I decided to put that all to good use. I didn't have a computer when I started and the thought of using pen and paper just sent shivers down my spine. The only useful thing I did have was my Dad's Palm Top. It was, as the name suggests, very small and sat well in the palm of my hand. Typing on it was difficult to say the least but my passion for writing was building and over took any difficulties I had with the Palm Top.

When did you know writing was for you? I got about 10,000 words of my first book typed into that Palm Top. When I realised that the book was more than a whim and I WAS actually going to write the book (I really thought I'd get bored writing within days of starting) I started to save up for a Laptop and getting the Laptop 6 months after starting the first book was the kick up the you-know-what I needed to REALLY get into my writing.

How do you keep going? Writing at the moment for me is juggled with life. I know I don't write as much as I should but working (and the job I've got isn't the best and therefore is fairly stressful) and general life gets in the way. I write when I can and I find that that is perfect for me at the moment.
