A few years ago now, I walked out my front door only to be ridiculed by a few adolescent males about the some what humorous amount of extra weight I was carrying. Needless to say it had a huge effect on my confidence and made me want to stay locked away in doors for the rest of my life. Of course, being the social kind of human I am, I decided I needed life outside of the confines of my house. I needed to regain my confidence. The only thing I could do was to lose that extra weight I was carrying around my hips and really begin to show my worth in life.

Losing weight is not an easy task for a lot of us. Some people were born with a higher metabolism that allows them to shed pounds in what seems like minutes, never putting on any weight despite all that chocolate they have been eating. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. So, what could I do to slim my self up? Well, there are  few simple exercises that we can do everyday that can help us get back into great shape. There is no simple way of losing weight though, right? Wrong! Walking is a great way to lose weight. In fact, it has been one of my favorite ways to shed a few extra pounds over the past year. Most of us don't walk anywhere as near as much as we may think. So, what I tend to do a few times a week is take a mid-paced walked around the park with my dog. You don't have to have a dog to do this of course, it just makes it that little more interesting. Never ignore the powers of walking!

Eat more meals per day. "What!" - I hear you cry in disbelieve. Believe it or not, but eating more meals per day has been proven to help people control their appetite for junk foods. Having smaller portions per meal, yet more meals per day is a great way to keep your cravings under control. By eating more frequently, we aren't giving our bodies the time to start thinking about other little cravings. Just make sure that when you are eating more meals per day, that they are healthier meals! Try and have some type of protein food with every small meal that you eat during the day.

There you have it - the foundations to a great new weight loss diet. Base your new diet around these two tips and you can expect to see your fat melting away from your body in a few weeks time. Remember though, you need to stay disciplined and work hard to achieve your weight loss goals!
